Listing Terms

Version 2026-08-20

These Listing Terms apply whenever you create, claim, edit or manage a business listing on ListMyIndia. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; where a conflict arises on a matter specific to listings, these terms apply. By submitting a listing you confirm you have read and accepted them.

1. Who may post a listing

You may submit a listing only for a business you own, or one you are authorised in writing to represent. Submitting a listing for a business you have no connection with — including a competitor's — is not permitted.

  • You confirm you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • You confirm the business exists and operates at the address you provide.
  • Where you act for someone else, you confirm you hold their authority to do so and to accept these terms on their behalf.

2. Accuracy of what you publish

You are responsible for everything in your listing. We may display, verify, correct or remove listing information, but we do not undertake to check it, and we are not the author of it.

  • Business name, address, contact details, categories and hours must be accurate and kept up to date.
  • Do not present another business's name, brand or address as your own.
  • Do not list a service you are not licensed or qualified to provide, where a licence or qualification is required by law.
  • Prices, offers and claims must be genuine and honoured on the terms stated.

3. Content you may not post

The following will be removed, and repeated attempts will cost you access to the platform.

  • Content that infringes a trademark, copyright, design or other right belonging to someone else.
  • Content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, harassing, or that incites hatred or violence.
  • Another person's private information — phone number, address, identity document or photograph — published without their consent.
  • Goods or services whose sale is prohibited or restricted under Indian law.
  • Misleading claims, fake credentials, or awards and certifications you have not received.
  • Malware, phishing links, or content designed to deceive visitors into parting with money or credentials.

4. Photographs and other material

You must own the photographs, logos and text you upload, or hold permission to use them. Uploading images taken from another business's website, from a stock library you have not licensed, or from a search engine is a common cause of complaints against listings and is not permitted.

By uploading material you grant ListMyIndia a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize and display it for the purpose of operating and promoting the directory, including in search results and on partner surfaces. You keep ownership of your material, and the licence ends for future use when the material is removed.

5. Reviews and ratings

Reviews exist to inform people choosing between businesses. Interfering with them undermines the only thing that makes them useful.

  • Do not write, buy, solicit or incentivise reviews of your own business.
  • Do not post negative reviews of a competitor, directly or through others.
  • Do not offer discounts, gifts or any other benefit in exchange for a review or a rating.

6. Verification and claiming

A listing may be verified by us, and an unclaimed listing may be claimed by the business it describes, through OTP confirmation of the phone number on record or another method we accept.

Verification confirms that a step was completed — for example that someone controlled a given phone number. It is not an endorsement of the business, a guarantee of its quality, or a warranty about anything it sells.

7. Contact details and communications

Contact details you publish will be shown to visitors, subject to the reveal rules on the listing page, and may be used by them to contact you. Do not publish a contact you are not entitled to publish.

By listing, you agree that we may contact you about your listing, its verification status and your plan. Marketing communications are separate and you can opt out of them at any time.

8. Free and paid listings

A free listing may be created at no cost. Paid plans add features described at the point of purchase and are governed by our Refund and Cancellation policy.

We may change the features included in any plan. Where a change materially reduces what you have already paid for, we will tell you and offer a pro-rata refund for the unused period.

9. Removal and suspension

We may edit, hide, downrank or remove a listing, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where we receive a valid complaint under our Infringement Policy, or where we are required to act by law or by a court or government order.

Where a listing is removed for a breach that can be fixed, we will normally tell you what to change. Accounts responsible for repeated breaches may be closed.

10. Your responsibility to us

You agree to indemnify ListMyIndia against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from listing content you submitted, from your breach of these terms, or from your dealings with a customer who found you through the directory. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, identified by the version date at the top. When you submit a listing we record which version you accepted. Material changes will be notified to listing owners, and continuing to keep a listing published after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law and grievances

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you have a complaint about a listing or about how we have handled your content, contact our Grievance Officer, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, at [email protected], or see our Infringement Policy page for the full details. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
